「信義男爵樂團」成立的目的是建基於金齡男士的服務需要，本會研究發現，金齡男士職場甚具壓力，需要舒解釋放，同時他們亦想為其退休生活預早籌劃，樂器學習是一條出路；退休男士則面對角色轉變及生活適應等，退休後往往成為弱勢的一群。「信義男爵樂團」透過樂器課程及樂團演出，既圓滿個人音樂夢，發展社交平台，並將金齡活力以音韻帶到社區，成就樂活人生。上年度我們更受台灣嘉義市文化局邀請，代表香港參與2015年度的嘉義市國際管樂節，這是香港和台灣首次有金齡男士樂團參與，對推動金齡人士藝術文化的層面上意義重大。
Men in Jazz” is a project carried out by
the Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service-Hong Kong (ELCHK) and was first
established in 2011. Members of Men in Jazz constituted of men over the age of
50 and are at their golden age. Most of our band members do not possess any
music background
The
mission of Men in Jazz is mainly to help these men of golden age. Having to
face pressure from work environment, the band has transformed into a place
where they seek peace and relax when being away from work. Music can bring
solace to them and support them mentally. Music also connects them and serves
as a tool in building them a new social network after retirement. For those who
had missed out the opportunity to pursue music during their younger days, Men
in Jazz helps to revive their dreams.
The
band performed in 2015 Chiayi City International
Band Festival.
It was invited by the Chiayi County Cultural Affairs Department. We are
the first elderly wind band to perform in Chiayi City International
Band Festival.
It is significant on elderly music development in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
